Mother's Day in the Quad Cities: 8 ways to spend your day

Our moms are one of a kind. Each one, a unique blend of interests, traits, and experiences. Take our list and cater it to the special blend of characteristics that you adore about your mom!

The Creative Mom – Check out the Beaux Arts Fair where artists from across the country set up shop at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds and work ranges across the art spectrum. This runs May 11 & 12. You could also make your own creation with mom, by signing up for a Create Quad Cities Painte Nite.

The Funny Mom - Attend a Comedysportz show at the Spotlight Theatre. This is a fast-paced, all-ages imrpovisational comedy show that uses audience suggestions in a highly competative “game” between a red team and a blue team. The teams compete for the most laughs.

The Competitive Mom - There are endless ways to go head-to-head with your feisty mom. For outdoor sports, check out our Get Outdoors page for some inspiration. If shooting craps is more mom's style, choose from our three awesome casinos. And of course, there are some great indoor options like TBK Bank Sports Complex with a wide variety of competitions you could find yourself in: bowling, escape rooms, ane more!

The 'Loves Beautiful Views' Mom - Good thing you're spending Mother's Day in the Quad Cities because we have beautiful views at every turn, including our world-renowned riverfront views of the Mississippi River. Take mom to UP skybar atop the roof of the Current Iowa downtown Davenport or The River Room inside the Hyatt Place in East Moline. And for a more active view, the I-74 Bridge oculus is an unforgettable overlook of the Mighty Mississippi.

The Craft Beer Mom - Look no further than the Quad Cities for a wealth of craft beer options. The QC Ale Trail can help guide you through the local microbrewery scene (and you can even earn prizes as you blaze the trail). And lucky for you, QC Craft Beer Week happens to coincide with Mother's Day! You could make a whole weekend out of craft beer, starting Friday, May 10 with the QC Ale Trail Five-Year Anniversary Pop-Up Party at Front Street Taproom in Daveneport. And Saturday, May 11 is the Quad Cities Battle on the Belle Cruise
