Explore Silvis, Illinois

Located on the Illinois side of the QC region, Silvis is home to the John Deere Classic PGA TOUR event when professional golfers come to play the TPC Deere Run course each summer.  Caddies were first allowed to wear shorts at the 1999 John Deere Classic in a first-time policy change in the PGA TOUR’s 83-year history.

TPC Deere Run is built on the site of a former Arabian horse farm. Designed by D.A. Weibring, this former three-time winner of the tournament brought out the best of the natural, rolling landscape along the Rock River to create a championship golf course that blends challenge and playability.

Hero Street in Silvis is a street that honors veterans of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. It has been documented that as of the present day there have been over 100 young men and women from Second Street who have given service to the U.S. Military Forces.

Try the tin can nachos or great burgers at Tap 22 Bar & Grill with their long beer list, or watch your Greek cheese go up in flames on purpose for saganaki at Doc’s Inn.
