August Car Shows 2022

The Quad Cities gears up for a busy month of car shows and events in August.

The 2022 Quad City British Auto Club’s Heartland British Autofest takes over the scenic riverfront in LeClaire, Iowa.  The annual car show is Saturday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., when the first and second place trophies will be awarded.  The car show on the levee displays some of the area’s best examples of British cars from makers such as Jaguar, MG, Mini, Triumph, etc.  DJ Greg Zirbes provides British Invasion Rock & Roll music throughout the day.  The car show is free to the viewing public.

150 antique vehicles in pristine condition are arriving from across the U.S.  They will be on display in the Quad Cities as part of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Central National Meet.  This invitation-only show includes fully operational vehicles hosted by the AACA of the Mississippi Valley Region.  The public is invited to view the antique vehicles during the indoor car show & judging on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Bend XPO, 922 Mississippi Parkway in East Moline, Ill.  It’s free admission to attend and concessions will be available.

Some of the oldest vehicles that will be on display include a 1903 Holly, 1904 Sandusky, 1910 Sears, and a 1910 Buick. You’ll be able to see very rare and unique vehicles at this show, including several Packards and a 1934 Desoto Airflow which was a leader in innovation with a very aerodynamic design and unibody construction.  The muscle car era will also be well represented at the show.

The Antique Automobile Club of America of the Mississippi Valley Region is one of the older regions of the AACA.  It was established in the 1950s by a handful of car enthusiast to promote interest and preservation of antique automobiles, family enjoyment, friendship, and to learn and share knowledge with others, but mostly just to have fun.

Vettes on the River is back on Saturday, August 27, 2022, in downtown LeClaire, Iowa, with more than 250 Corvettes.  Corvettes come from all over the country to gather on the levee by the Mississippi River in LeClaire and show off their pride and joy, all while supporting Quad Cities Vietnam Veterans Chapters 776, 669 & 299.

Vettes on the River is an all-Corvette Show & Shine Car Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the LeClaire Levee.  The show is free for the public, and spectators are welcome.

It might not be a car show, but you’ll see plenty of top vehicles at the 69th annual World Series of Drag Racing, presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts, to be held August 26-28, 2022, at the Cordova Dragway.  It features some of the most exotic racing machines on the planet, such as fire-breathing Top Fuel Dragsters, Nitro Funny Cars, and Jet Cars, ground-pounding Pro Mods, and gravity-defying Wheelstanders.

Cordova Dragway is the world’s longest continually running drag racing event.  Located in the Quad Cities, the 190-acre facility features a 1/4-mile drag racing strip that is one of the oldest in the country.

They'll be plenty of vehicles racing on the Davenport Speedway on August 25-27 during the World of Outlaws Quad Cities 150. The World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Models will battle in Iowa for 3 nights, and are joined by the Xtreme Outlaw Series Midgets on Friday and Saturday.
