August Festivals in the QC 2022

Festival fun continues in August!

Mississippi Valley Fair – August 2-7
Week of nightly grandstand concerts with top name, national music acts, carnival rides, demos, and more at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport. Featuring nightly grandstand entertainment, vendors, food, crafts, open and 4-H competitions, Evans United shows, free stages and much more. 

Bix Jazz Festival – August 4-6
Davenport native, Bix Beiderbecke, is a jazz legend who performed during the 1920s and is in the International Jazz Hall of Fame. The festival is dedicated to music of his time and Dixieland style. Join us at the Rhythm City Casino Resort for many jazz performances from around the country. 

Heartland British Auto Fest – August 6
Classic British autos on display on the LeClaire Levee.

MiLB at Field of Dreams Game - August 9
Quad Cities River Bandits and the Cedar Rapids Kernels game takes place at the now iconic MLB ballpark next to the historic Field of Dreams movie site near Dyersville, Iowa.

Tug Fest – August 11-13
Giant tug-of-war across the mighty Mississippi between LeClaire, Iowa and Port Byron, Illinois with fireworks and live entertainment all weekend. 

Quad Cities Balloon Festival – August 12-13
Watch these quietly, majestic balloons take off, race, land, and glow at night. Tickets are sold in advance for people that would like to participate in a balloon tether ride. This event will take place at the Rhythm City Casino, weather permitting. 

Alternating Currents Festival – August 18-21
Throughout the weekend, a dozen venues across downtown will host a wide variety of live music, film screenings, comedians, and visual artists.  Over 50 national and regional acts, big and small, will perform throughout the festival. Patrons are encouraged to travel from venue to venue and explore all downtown Davenport has to offer.

Freedom Fest – August 20
The day-long festival in East Moline includes a variety of events with a car show, vendors, kids activities, capped off by live music in Runners Park in the evening. 

Floatzilla – August 20
River Action wants all canoes and kayaks for an attempt to break the world record for the largest flotilla of canoes and kayaks happening at Sunset Marina in Rock Island. The largest gathering of kayaks and canoes on the Mississippi River.  Floatzilla supports River Action’s efforts to restore habitat, renovate infrastructure, and foster citizen action to improve water quality in the Mississippi River watershed. All participants will receive a mesh bag for picking up plastic and trash in the river.

Quad City Symphony Riverfront Pops: The Music of Elton John – August 20
The Party of the Summer is turning 40! Celebrate with us along the banks of the Mississippi with a choir-enhanced symphonic celebration of the Music of Elton John. Rock to Elton’s greatest hits and see this spectacular event as it closes with our traditional renditions of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever set to a brilliant fireworks display. Picnic and listen to music by the Quad City Symphony Orchestra on the banks of the Mississippi River at LeClaire Park. 

Moline Sesquicentennial Week – August 22-29
Moline celebrates a noteworthy milestone - the 150th anniversary of its incorporation. Anyone with affection for the City of Moline are invited to recognize, commemorate and celebrate this anniversary throughout the entire sesquicentennial week, August 22-29. The highlight will be a 3-day music and art street festival on Aug. 25-27. 

World Series of Drag Racing – August 25-28
Weekend of top drag racing at the Cordova International Raceway.   

Vettes on the River –August 27
Vettes on the River is an all-Corvette Car Show in LeClaire, supporting Local Veterans.

Farm Days – August 27-28
Free family fun for everyone. See tractors on display and enjoy activities like wagon rides, petting zoo, magician, and more in the Village of East Davenport.
