Experience QC Restaurant Week
Quad Cities Restaurant Week has always been a great excuse to find a new favorite local haunt and explore in your own backyard. However, this year is even more important. Restaurants are one of the hardest hit businesses this past year, and showing up to support them during this time is crucial to survival.
QC Restaurant Week - March 22-28
The Quad Cities has so many different options when it comes to your dining experience. It’s really all about how you’re looking to spend your time. While some of these could be in other categories, this is where they register with me.
Need a coffee or a quick bite?
Iron + Grain Coffee House – 585 12th Ave. – East Moline, IL
Iron + Grain has so much to offer its visitors, the term ‘coffee house’ doesn’t do it justice. It’s set in a super cool space—in the Rust Belt (which if you haven’t checked that out, do so here). Iron + Grain has incredible beverages—some of the most smooth, yet complex drinks; and they aren’t snobby with their service. I always ask for help in choosing and their staff guides me well. That goes with the food, too. They have healthy, clean options for those who enjoy lighter fare during their day.

Want a fresh breakfast joint?
Meli’s Pancake House – 1320 5th Ave. – Moline, IL
This is a new establishment with fresh takes on the classics. I recommend anything with salmon or avocado.
What about a giant, classic breakfast?
The Iowa Machine Shed – 7250 Northwest Blvd. - Davenport, IA
This is a classic Quad Cities family restaurant stop. It is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Their breakfast food is always perfectly prepared, their service is speedy (whether they are busy or not), and they are reasonably priced.

Going out with the Family?
Sippi’s American Grill & Craft Beer – 406 W. 2nd St. – Davenport, IA
Sippi’s is a staple of downtown Davenport. It has a great patio, a wide selection of menu items with hearty servings, and good specials.

Where should you take a date?
Fifth Avenue Syndicate Bistro & Bar – 1630 5th Ave. – Moline, IL
Fifth Avenue is a very cool place to visit. From the décor, to the design of the cocktail menu, then onto the trendy food selection, and ending with service, this place is a beautiful backdrop for your making of memories.

Combine – 910 Bend Blvd. – East Moline, IL
Combine ‘A Bass Street Restaurant’ delivers everything old Bass Street fans desire with a freshened feel and taste to entice new life-long fans. You can still get your hearty chowders but delight in cold-smoked chicken, order a Side Car on the cocktail menu, but also delight in a Hemingway Daiquiri; a blend of old and new makes for a lovely date night visit.
How about a ‘Destination Dinner’?
Going East? The Crane & Pelican Café – 127 S. 2nd St. – LeClaire, IA
The Crane & Pelican has long been a favorite destination place for me, whether it be for lunch or dinner. Their cocktails are fresh, the food is fantastic with classics on the menu like Mom’s Meatloaf – or new charms like hummus and shrimp pasta. There is always a delight to be found here.

Heading West? Maxwell’s on the River – 119 West Mississippi Dr. – Muscatine, IA
It is a beautiful drive out to Muscatine, Iowa. Maxwell’s has wonderful views, delicious fare, and a lovely ambiance to enjoy at the end of the day drive.
