Favorite Quad Cities Shops
Finding the perfect gift is one of my favorite things. So, naturally finding local shops with fantastic giving treasures is one of my favorite things to do! Over the past few decades that I've lived in the Quad Cities, there have been traditional must-go establishments and new must-check-out places when it comes to finding the perfect gift. This year is no different with a variety of local shops offering fantastic choices from beard oil to novelties and practical to fun. Be sure to check out some of my favorite Quad Cities shops!
Allied Barber Shop
I had so many people recommend this place that I am going to have to put it on my list to visit!! This shop has a great story, a great message, and great projects. It’s exactly as advertised: men’s grooming, goods, and gear. There’s a great online shop for easy ordering. You can even sign up for subscriptions.

LeClaire is one of my favorite shopping towns and this place is full of character. You’ll definitely want to stop in the Captain’s Spirits Wine Cellar on the lower level. Check out the antiques, painted furniture, wine accessories, and so much more throughout this delightful shop.

“One of my favorite stops in LeClaire is Grasshoppers. It’s a cute shop with lots of unique items. A fun place to wander. My first stop is the room with the custom made jewelry. They have a variety of beautiful pieces. I finish my trip down in the wine cellar, with great wines and wine themed gifts. If your timing is right, you may even catch them doing wine tasting. Isabel Bloom
A local legend in its own right, Isabel Bloom offers unique and treasured concrete sculptures for special occasions, or “just because” for people of all ages. There is a wide array of categories from animals to children to holiday themed sculptures. The unique shade and use of a bright spot of color on certain items is a delight.

Lillie & Pine
This shop specializes in handmade skin care that people are raving about! You can enjoy soap gift sets, a jar of bath bombs, candles and more. Unique scents like Bay Lime, Orange Clove, and Marigold & Lemon will delight your senses.

Splash
Splash is filled with creatively designed soaps, bath and shower bombs, lotions and oils, clever signs, and useful odds and ends. The scents and colors will delight you. Most items in this shop are consumable so for my friends that don’t want more “things” this is perfect. Christiana Headley, the shop owner and designer/maker of their products, believes in keeping products as natural as possible. I especially love the “make your own candle”—it’s colorful and the scents are amazing!

Urban Farmhouse
This lovely shop believes strongly in customer service and getting to know the person shopping in the store. They want to get to know you! Then, they want to help you find the perfect item for you or someone else. It’s “a tiny shop with a whole lot of heart.” Check out Urban Farmhouse online or visit one of their shops for everything from pine sprays to mind teasers to earrings.

What a Gem
Here you'll find a unique mix of “vintage + modern” as you shop a fun variety of household items. Oh! What a fun stop this is! Need a vintage bar cart? What about a new rug? A unique painting? Vintage holiday decor? It’s here. You’ll be surprised and delighted by all you find. This shop is: a Gem!
This is a pop-up style shop, so check the What a Gem Facebook page. They are typically open on Saturdays.
