Festival fun continues in July!
John Deere Classic – June 29- July 3
Watch golf pros compete during this PGA TOUR event at the TPC Deere Run golf course in Silvis. The John Deere Classic celebrates its 51st anniversary this year.
Mercado on Fifth Summer Market- July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
Open-air, cultural event featuring food trucks, produce/retail vendors, live entertainment and educational activities for children. There will be a variety of children’s activities, delicious Mexican cuisine, and unique retail stands selling everything from jewelry to hand-sewn blouses and imported ceramics. This event happens every Friday through September.
Red, White & Boom - July 3
Fireworks over the river between Rock Island and Davenport with family activities before the fireworks. At 9:30 p.m. the fireworks show will start in sync with music broadcasted on 97X, from two barges in the middle of the Mississippi River. Spectators can watch from free viewing areas along the Davenport riverfront including LeClaire Park, Quinlan Court, Centennial Park and Bechtel Park, or from Schwiebert Riverfront Park in downtown Rock Island.
East Moline Fireworks – July 3
Fireworks at dusk in River Bend Park with family activities before the fireworks starting at 6:30 p.m.
Bettendorf 4th of July – July 4
Starting with a parade at 10 a.m. the celebration continues through the afternoon with games, music, vendors, and concludes with fireworks at Middle Park at dusk.
Firecracker Run – July 4
40th Anniversary of the Genesis Firecracker Run in East Moline with several types of races. Run starts at 7:30 a.m.
East Moline 4th of July Parade – July 4
Starts at 1 p.m. Location: Along 15th Ave from 3rd Street to 13th Street - This year the parade will begin at 3rd Street and end at 13th Street.
Mercer County Fair – July 12-16
Carnival, 4-H exhibits, animals, and grandstand shows at fairgrounds in Aledo.
Walcott Truckers Jamboree – July 14-16
Celebrating America’s truckers since 1979 with a free festival with over 175 exhibits, live country music, Trucker Olympics, and fireworks at the world’s largest Iowa 80 Truckstop.
Quad Cities Chalk Art Fest – July 16-17
In its 6th year, Quad City Arts’ Chalk Art Fest will take place July 16-17, 2022, at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in downtown Rock Island, IL. The festival starts at 10 a.m. both days and goes until 7pm on Saturday and 5pm on Sunday.
Rock Island County Fair – July 19-23
Carnival, 4-H exhibits, animals, and grandstand shows at the fairgrounds in East Moline.
Bix 7 Run/Walk – July 30
Covering 7 miles, elite runners from around the world come to compete in this world-renowned event. This historic out-and-back race through downtown Davenport is for runners and walkers alike. The 7-Mile course starts at the base of Brady Street Hill and is lined with live bands and cheering crowds. The race starts at 8 a.m. Also come to watch the Thursday night sprints up Brady Street Hill and the Friday night Jr. Bix.
In addition to all the fun on the Bix 7, there are plenty of Bix Block Parties to enjoy during that weekend.
- Finish Line Fest - It's a whole line-up of musicians on Saturday from 10 am-10 pm at the Stardust in downtown Davenport.
- Bix Bash Music Fest - on 3rd Street from Ripley to Harrison on Friday and Saturday
- Bix Fest - behind The Office on 3rd Street
- Dam View Inn - has music on Saturday night at 6 pm
- Front Street Pub + Eatery - has live music from 12-4 pm
- Heights of the Era - jazz and other music on Friday 3-10:30 p.m at Lindsay Park
- Bix Movie Showing - Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Figge, watch the newly restored documentary Bix: “Ain’t None of Them Play Like Him Yet”.
