Night at the Drive-In Movie Theater
It was always so exciting to go to the drive-in as kid. You knew you were going to get to stay up really, really late, eat candy…and more candy, and watch a movie while sitting in the car(!). We always had to put on pajamas or comfy clothes ok to sleep in because my parents knew my brother and I were rarely ever awake by the middle of the second movie.
The Blue Grass Drive-In has now four, fully-digital screens that show movies. Each screen shows its own movies so there are different options. Each screen also has its own dedicated FM radio channel you tune into for your movies or rent a radio from them to use. It's always a double-feature starting at 9 pm in the summer.

For 2021, they've added private viewing boxes with seating areas both inside and outside. It includes private parking, private viewing, and they are climate controlled.
The Blue Grass Drive-In Theater is open from spring through the end of October. At the season's beginning and end, they are open on Friday-Sunday nights. Late May to Early August, they are open 7 days a week!
The ticket booth opens at 7 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; 6 pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You can also buy tickets online in advance. Adult admission is $10; Children ages 12-4 are $5; and children under the age of 3 are free. Their concession stand is open, and you can even order their food online in advance. Then they’ll text you when it’s ready. For now, they are also letting you bring in your own snacks. (No alcoholic drinks) Check out their Facebook page for any updates.
Joan K. (Davenport) went recently with her family. Her advice is to buy tickets in advance to save time on busy nights as they have two different ticket lines depending if you have your tickets already or not. Bring blankets and bug spray! “I've had the best experiences in vans and trucks where you can set up bean bags or chairs in the back.”
Tina A. (Bettendorf) says, “It’s a great venue. I recently took my teenage son and his friend to see the classics like E.T. and Back to the Future. It’s great family fun for all ages.”
