Photo Opportunities You Didn’t Know We Had

The Quad Cities is full of beautiful places and scenic views. If you're looking for something unique for your next photoshoot, here’s a list of hidden photo spots to take your camera out for a spin. 

 

Bettendorf, IA

Devils Glen Park - 1101 Devils Glen Rd. Take photos in lush, scenic woods with a creek. This is a spot that the whole family, including pets, can enjoy. 

The Oculus - The I-74 Bridge. The Oculus is a unique way to capture the Mississippi River. Whether you're taking selfies over the glass with the river flowing underneath or a posed family portrait with a sceneic view in the background, The Oculus is a great spot to take some pictures. 

 

Coffee Apothecary - 2571 53rd Ave. For a cozy, indoor photoshoot, Coffee Apothecary is the perfect place. This spot has an aesthetic environment with its plants, chandeliers, and decorative bookshelves. Sit down, grab a cup of coffee, and snap some photos.

 

Davenport, IA

Vander Veer Botanical Park - 215 W. Central Park Ave. Vander Veer is full of beautiful, curated florals. With an indoor center and outdoor garden, Vander Veer has photo oppurtunities year around. 

Union Station - 102 S. Harrison St. For a bright and fun photo opp, stop by the Visit Quad Cities Union Station photo wall. The faux greenery and the light up sign are sure to make you stand out in your pictures. Or, be pictured in the state outlines to show off your Quad Cities pride. 

 

Figge Art Musuem 225 West Second St. Try a new background surrounded by intriguing works of art. The Figge offers a beautiful backdrop from the outside stairs or a rememberable photoshoot on the inside. 

UP Skybar & Lounge215 N Main St. Capture the scenic view from the rooftop bar. The Up Skybar & Lounge over looks the Mississippi, creating a beautiful background for your photo, especially during sunset. 

 

Moline, IL

John Deere Pavilion - 1400 River Dr. Capture lasting smiles while sitting in the tractors at the John Deere Pavilion. This photo spot is especially fun for little ones as they pretend to drive the machines, or to release your inner child as you take some selfies with them. 

 

Rock Island, IL

Rock Island Letters - 1801 2nd Ave. The “Rock Island” block letters is a spot tourists and natives can both enjoy. Be creative by putting yourself in the letters or doing a fun pose.  

Arts Alley - 1719-21 2nd Ave. With huge murals, ambient light, and sculptures, Arts Alley has many photo oppurtunities to choose from. Pose by one of the artworks or capture it all walking down the center. 

Centennial Bridge -  Rock Island to Davenport. This historic landmark offers a unique, industrial background and a beautiful view of the Mississippi River. The Centennial Bridge illumiantes at night making it the perfect spot for a night time photoshoot.

The Slough - 639 38th St. This scenic path located on Augustana College's campus is a beautiful place to snap some photos. Focus on capturing the wildlife or let it be the backdrop of your portrait. The Slough is especially beautiful during the fall season when the leaves are turning colors.  

 

Greater QC Area 

Downtown LeClaire - 100-300 blocks of S. Cody Rd, LeClaire, IA. Take pictures in the cute, downtown area of LeClaire, Iowa. With pretty architecture, shrubbery, and it's right along the river. 

Hero Street - 202 1st Ave, Silvis, IL. Capture this monument symbolizing the heroic efforts from Second Street in Silvis, Illinois.
