Supporting Local Restaurants

Pandemics are hard.  We hear about covid-fatigue and nod knowingly because we get it.  This constant worry about health is an added aspect to our lives that wasn’t there in 2019.  It takes up brainwaves to constantly weigh situations in this “new normal”.  But this pandemic isn’t over, so we just keep plugging along, getting more used to the “new normal”, and caring for others whether we know them or not.

One way Visit Quad Cities is caring for our local business community is to organize a new Fall edition of QC Restaurant Week on October 11-24 to help support local restaurants.

“Quad Cities restaurants, in particular our locally owned and operated ones, are in need of support,” said Dave Herrell, President and CEO, Visit Quad Cities.  “During the last many months, they have been incredibly creative, agile, and resilient and we need these small businesses to survive and thrive again. Local restaurants make communities unique and we are fortunate to have so many as part of our regional destination.  We encourage all Quad Citizens and visitors to experience and support our QC restaurant scene.”

More than 50 restaurants are participating for dine-in and carry-out.  Details about each restaurant and their specials are available on the newly-redesigned QC Restaurant Week website.

EAT FOOD. WIN FOOD.

There is an extra benefit for eating out during QC Restaurant Week.  In addition to supporting local restaurants, Quad Citizens have a chance to win a smorgasbord of local restaurant gift cards.  Individuals who purchase a meal (or meals) from any of the QC Restaurant Week restaurants between October 11-24 can fill out the online entry form with a picture of their receipt, photo of themselves at the restaurant, or posing with their carryout meal for a chance to win.  You can enter multiple times with each restaurant you frequent.

For eight years, Visit Quad Cities has traditionally held Quad Cities Restaurant Week in February.  We want this special Fall Flavors edition to bring much-needed love and business to local restaurants and our neighbors who run them.  The local culinary scene is a key part of the quality of life of Quad Citizens, and important to the visitors we welcome to our family of communities.

So grab your mask to wear and the bottle of hand sanitizer, and post about your Fall QC Restaurant Week meals using #QCRestaurantWeek!
