The John Deere Classic
It's almost tee time in Silvis, IL!
Since 2000, the John Deere Classic has made its home at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL. The John Deere Classic is a premier PGA TOUR golf tournament held every year in July. John Deere has been a proud sponsor since 1998 and recently renewed their sponsorship through 2030. The tournament is usually played a week before The Open Championship, which gives players a last-chance opportunity to earn entry into The Open upon finishing in the top 5. The 2024 John Deere Classic champion was Davis Thompson.

The John Deere Classic doesn’t just focus on golf but has also developed an amazing foundation called the Birdies for Charity Program. This program was developed to help fund non-profit organizations. It also helps empower local 501(c)3s to raise funds without the burden of extensive admin fees. Since 1971, the John Deere Classic has raised over $189 million for local charities thanks to the development of the Birdies for Charity Program.

Each year, Executive Women’s Day helps to kick off the tournament. Executive Women’s Day, presented by Quad City Bank & Trust, is all about celebrating the strength, resilience, and achievements of women in leadership while better acquainting the community with the positive economic and charitable impact of the John Deere Classic. This year’s special guest is the winningest coach in Hawkeye women’s basketball history (528 victories), a Naismith Coach of the Year (2019) and a three-time Big Ten Coach of the Year - Coach Lisa Bluder.
The John Deere Classic is a wonderful event that gives back in so many ways - the Quad Cities is lucky to make our community home to the tournament.
