What You Need to Know: Quad-City Times Bix 7
This July marks the 51st running of the Quad-City Times Bix 7 road race. This iconic 7-mile race through downtown Davenport is open to both runners and walkers beginning at the foot of Brady Street Hill, featuring both live bands and cheering crowds along the way! Run alongside elite athletes at the starting line near the Mississippi River, with the finish line entering into the largest post-race celebration in the Midwest. Along with this thrilling 7-mile course, there are celebratory events in the week leading up to the event that you can find more information on below:
Tuesday, July 22
7pm The Bechtel Trusts Senior Bix: Runners over 50 years old automatically qualify, and they can choose to run a 1 or 2 mile course! This shorter, more scenic path follows along the Mississippi River from the Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf riverfront. Race entry includes a t-shirt, on-course entertainment, and access to the refreshing Walmart post-race party.
Thursday, July 24
5-9pm Running Wild Sports and Fitness Expo: Come experience the premier Bix 7 expo at RiverCenter South along with the over 50,000 runners, walkers, volunteers, families, and friends brought to the QC. For 2 days, vendors from the health, wellness and fitness industry will set up with the latest running apparel and gear, nutritional products and injury prevention.
7pm MercyOne Genesis Brady Street Sprints: Looking for a more action-packed watch? This quarter mile/400 meter sprint up Brady Street hill is always exciting. Time trials take place at 7pm during the three Bix@6 training runs at 5th and Pershing Street. The top finishers each night win a Running Wild gift certificate, a finalist t-shirt, and make it into the final round taking place live on KWQC TV 6.
6-9pm Brady Street Sprints Party: Music, food, and family fun at MLK Park before, during, and after the sprints.
Friday, July 25
9am-8pm Running Wild Sports and Fitness Expo Day 2
4-8pm Bix Jazz and Family Jam at K-Square: The Bix 7 weekend kicks off with festivities at Kaiserslautern Square. Pairing live music with tasty treats and conveniently located near the Arconic Jr. Bix activities, this is a great spot for both entertainment and kids activities. Race packets will be available for pick up during this time, as well.
6pm Arconic Jr. Bix: An exciting way for the whole family to get involved in this weekend's action. Geared towards crawlers and runners up to 12 years old, with various distances based off of age. Each participant receives a medal, t-shirt and entrance into the festive post-race party.
7pm-Midnight Bix Mix Street Party: The ultimate two day post-race celebration starts as the sun sets on Friday and Saturday. Let loose, dance under the stars, and toast to the days achievements in this electric atmosphere on West Third Street, Downtown Davenport. The day does not end with your race—extend the excitement and make memories at the Bix Mix Street Party!
Saturday, July 26
8am Quad City Times Bix 7: This year celebrates the 51st running of the Quad-City Times Bix 7; where walkers, runners, and the worlds top distance racers are brought together for a legendary 7-mile race through downtown Davenport. Beginning at the base of Brady Street Hill with live music and an enthusiastic crowd to kick off the race, “Run with the Best” alongside elite athletes and Olympic medalists, including legend Bill Rodgers. From the beginning until the Midwest's biggest post-race party, the Bix 7 is more than just a race—it’s an unforgettable celebration of community, competition, and fun!
8am Prairie Farms Quick Bix: A quick and fun way to do the Bix, participants start at the same time and location as the 7-mile race and run up the famous Brady Street hill together. Then you decide race morning which route you want to take. Once you’re at the top of the hill, turn right to head back down to the post-race party.
9-5pm Motor Row Victory Lane: Keep the race day energy going with a lively celebration featuring live music, family-friendly activities, delicious food and drinks, and entertainment from local businesses. Enjoy dynamic stage performances, bounce houses, local vendor pop-ups, and interactive games for all ages.
11am-2am Bix Mix Street Party Day 2
